Damage Waiver is a program provided by General Rental Center of Monticello LLC and most Rental companies which protects the customer from the expense of paying for most damages to rented equipment.
How much does cost?
The fee for the damage waiver is 8 % of your rental charges. No damage waiver is applied to sales, delivery charges or tax.
How does it work?
General Rental Center of Monticello LLC agrees to absorb the first $100 of any accidental damage to equipment. For damages over $100, the Customer is responsible for paying 20% of repair/replacement charges to rented equipment. Without the Damage Waiver, you would be required to return equipment undamaged or pay 100% to have the equipment repaired, up to the full cost.
What if I don’t want the Damage Waiver?
Damage Waiver is not mandatory for all cash customers (those who don’t have an open charge account). Damage Waiver will not be charged to account customers that provide General Rental Center of Monticello LLC with a certificate of liability from their insurance company with General Rental Center of Monticello LLC named insured.
What does the Damage Waiver not cover?
Damage waiver will not cover theft or disappearance of rented equipment or accessories. Also excluded are damages caused by gross negligence, or by operation of equipment by other than the renting customer. Example of items not covered; tires, rubber tracks, anything over top of the cab on all trucks, consumable items such as all belts, teeth on stump grinders, blades on mowers/brush hogs, tiller tines, belts on riding mowers and dethatchers, jackhammer bits, bed edger blades and dog fencer blades. All party items. Overages wear on diamond cutting products. Hydraulic hoses on all skid loader attachments. Missing items such as trailer pins, hooks and chains. Bucket lifts. Damage waiver does not apply to delivery, labor or sales items.
What is Gross Negligence?
Gross negligence means disregard of common sense care, which the renter could be expected to use if the equipment was theirs. Examples include: running champagne fountains without beverage; failure to secure equipment for transport.
Is there a deductible?
No. Damage Waiver is not insurance. It is a waiver by General Rental Center of Monticello LLC of its legal right to have equipment returned in the same operating condition as when it left.
